GAY?
I hear a lot of hate from homosexuals on the
fact that Christians of any denomination state that being homosexual or gay is
a sin. I have heard it said that Christians are spreading hate because they
believe homosexuality is a sin. Here is my two cents on the matter of Homosexuality
vs. Christianity.
Homosexuality:
- The Love of a same-sex partner.
- The physical attraction to the same sex.
- The finding of your soul mate in the same sex.
- The act of coitus with the same sex.
Sin:
- An archery term meaning “to miss the mark or bulls eye.”
- Refers to the missing of the target goal of Gods plan for creation.
Christian
Belief:
God created the Heavens and the Earth and
everything in it, and created human beings in His likeness. God created Adam (human
male) to search for a partner in all of creation. He named all the birds and
the beasts, and found none suitable to be his partner. God saw that it wasn’t
good for man to be alone, so God created Eve (human female) from a rib He took
from Adam. Eve became the perfect partner for Adam.
The deception of Humanity (man and woman) came
from God’s enemy. The enemy deceived Eve into breaking God’s rules with the
idea that God was wrong and that we could be like God. Adam followed suit,
trusting his partner even when he knew the rules. Sin then entered the world
and ruined God’s creation. God has been trying to guide His creation back on
track since then.
I shall say that if a person believes this to
be true, then being a homosexual is a sin. If you don’t believe God created the
heavens and the earth, but instead subscribe to Darwin or some other belief,
then being homosexual is not a sin.
If you ask a Christian what they believe, it is
not hatred that propels them to say homosexuality is sin; they simply believe
that it is not God’s plan.
My heart on this matter is that I believe it is
a sin. I am a Christian, and it is not a part of my God’s design that the same
sex be together. I believe that God created us to procreate, to share in the
act of creation. We are designed to do so with the opposite sex, naturally. There
are amazing things that happen when we go the natural route that I cannot even
define. One can only experience it.
I do not hate homosexuals nor do I wish to
persecute them. I believe in freedom for all humans as a species. This freedom
is not defined by the fact that you or I agree. This freedom is not defined by
religion or sex.
